We would like to take this opportunity to introduce our company Watan AL-Shomoos (WAS Co.) to you. WAS Co. is an Iraqi company with multiple branches in Iraq, and Kuwait. It offers a full suite of Logistics and Security Services for the Oil & Gas, Power, Telecommunications, Construction and other industry sectors in Iraq and the Middle East region. We provide quality professional service to all of our clients. As a result of our experienced and skilled staff, our clients can count on prompt deliveries of goods to respective destinations, whether by Land, Air or Sea. We are experienced in moving all types of cargo, military equipment, commercial equipment, and other goods, materials & products to and from Iraq. We offer a complete and modern fleet of over 30 trucks and tankers for transporting equipment, tubulars, containers, food goods, and other products & materials within and to Iraq as well as across the Middle East region. We provide round-the-clock operations and have executed numerous projects for a variety of cargos over the years.
WAS Co. has some interests in export and import business, where we supplied various materials to a number of ministries in Iraq, for example the Ministry of Health, Agriculture and Defense. In addition, WAS Co. has some oil works in expand pipeline and providing chemicals additive Martials to the drilling of oil wells
Manager Message
The nature of life around me when I was growing up made me wish for more freedom, the freedom to move at will, cross borders to soak in our collective culture, to have the wings and wheels to fly over at a moment’s notice. I feel my entire life has been a preparation for this endeavour. It involved a great deal of independent research, requiring initiative, self-motivation and a wider range of skills to help bring my aspirations to fruition. Eventually I realised that the transportation industry was the essential element to spur my dreams. I found this avenue highly stimulating. I also came to understand that this is how I could serve Iraq, doing my part in moving our nation forward and connect it widely. I feel the more I connect, the wider our nation connects. We are all cog-wheels in the grand machinery that needs to run smoothly so we can truly start our march forward as an independent and sovereign nation; to freedom, opportunity and progress.
Whatever the strength of the individual, we will accomplish more together. We put the team ahead of our personal success and commit to building its capability. We trust each other to deliver on our respective obligations.

Our company is engaged in the field of oil services consulting in the field of research, exploration, extraction of oil and gas industry, establishing good business practice with companies and manufacturers in European and American as well as the Far East countries, South Korea and China The commercial department capable handling requests of supply and purchase of all the materials and equipment that involved in oil and gas industry with competitive price. So it actually showed a proved achievements to supply and install many successful projects inside Iraq and abroad. Policy and Management
(WAS) is a highly reputed shipping company specialized in the transportation of Oil, Chemicals, General Cargo and Dry Bulk across the world including ship management services.The corporate management provides leadership to its various Strategic Business Units and also directs the internal functions of Finance, Information Technology, Business Planning & Development, Internal Audit & Control and Communications. The corporate management also undertakes a periodic review of policies and practices of the organization and its subsidiaries to ensure they are in synergy with the organization’s vision, mission and values.
(WAS)’s corporate management is headed by the Board of Directors (WAS Board), Board Committees, Chief Executive Officer and the Executive Management.
All Business Units of (WAS) are independent to plan and perform their activities. However, corporate office ensures that each business unit has adequate processes to execute the set tasks.
HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT
The Management of Watan Al-Shomoos is committed to the prevention of accidents, equipments and material damage, as well as the protection of health and environment by adhering to the following convictions:
- Wide-spread awareness of health, safety and environmental programs.
- The implementation of the “On- site safety rules and regulations” as defined and documented in our safety plan.
- Compliance with the safety regulations as stipulated in contracts.
- Reporting and documentation of any accident resulting in personal injury and/or damage to equipment and materials.
- Monthly reporting on total man-hours versus lost time accidents. A safety plan is prepared accordingly to ensure strict adherence to the contracts as well as fire & safety regulations.
QMS & QA-QC Plans
Implementing a Quality Management System (QMS) helps improve the way operations are run and enhances efficiency and profitability. Furthermore, it can help in overcoming market barriers.
The purpose of applying the Quality Management Procedure at Watan Al-Shomoos is to identify the responsibilities and to define the management’s innovative approach for improvement in the performance of all member companies of the Group.
The Quality Management System document addresses the requirement for Management Responsibility in accordance with Watan Al-Shomoos internal organization. This is prepared to ensure that the elements needed to monitor continuous improvement on the performance of the company’s Quality Management System are in place and applied at all our projects by staff members who are specialized in application and auditing.
